Part of a Wider Bougainville-Wide Commitment

Bougainville Green-Blue Economy Policy Vision

"Smart, resilient society through increased sustainable, innovative and inclusive low carbon growth, while promoting efficient ecosystem services, safeguarding community rights, reducing environment risks and ecological scarcities."

Soraken's Blue-Green Framework sits within this island-wide policy, endorsed by the Bougainville Executive Council (BEC Decision 94 of 2024) and administered by the ABG Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Environment, Conservation and Climate Change. The GBE Policy is guided by seven key principles that Soraken's own framework reflects directly.

Economic Efficiency
Healthy Forests, Oceans & Sustainable Land Use
Social Equity & Food Security
Transparency & Accountability
Resilience
Innovation
National, Regional & International Cooperation

This framework is intended to exceed the sustainability aspirations set out in the PNG SEZ Foundation Policy, and to position SEIFH as a reference model for environmentally responsible SEZ development in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.
